Hectic work and Pathetic Verbal

Mr. DAM has shown a facet of life unknown to me hitherto. Last 3 weeks have been horribly in terms of work involvement and harrowing pressure. Could not study at all. This made me re-think at many occasions whether I should do sth and get out of this place? Talked to RCS and expressed my concern. Thank God he still wants me and this gave me some relief.
But since then also I have been continuously brooding over this issue. Sharing all these with my sweetheart over chatting. Is it so easy to move out of this place? Not exactly.
Then what?
Leave alone Saturday, last three Sundays also I could not get time to sit in front my newly bought laptop. One Sunday DAM kept us in the office till 7 pm!
Can anyone imagine working on Sundays till 7 pm.
But, Last Sunday was different.
Though busy whole day still it was a different day. We had “Team building Programme” at Hotel Renaissance - 5 star hotel at Melaka. Number of management games like ‘Ice breaker’ , Bid dilemma , Group exercise , etc. We enjoyed but thought of working from the next day again in the same fashion always kept breaking the accelerator of excitement.
But in all these I had totally lost the focus. How to re start has always been a great problem for me. Being in the rhythm is extremely important for me. And I must know this by now. Once off the track and it takes tremendous effort to bring my organs back on the track.
So today I broke the Ice and took an IMS test.
Meanwhile I must tell here that this week though I got some days when I could have put 1-2 hrs at least but could not do so because –
- Laptop and temptation of talking to my wife and my baby. Could not control that.
- And the contradictory thoughts whether to leave or not to leave Melaka.
So today I managed to have a full Sunday for me and wrote a test from 10.15 am to 12.45 pm.
Scored pathetic. Verbal has been terrible. I must pull my sleeves now and adopt some strategy to finish off with the materials I have.
So I once again take following resolves
- Will not open internet till 12.15 pm.
- At least study for one and a half hr a day. 10.45-12.15 (In worst cases) - Consider taking 30 minutes rest after coming from office.
My Dell laptop
So one of the milestones in my GMAT journey has been accomplished. I received my Dell notepad yesterday. Man what an awesome look it has!
Configuration-
- Pentium Duo 1.66 MHz
- 80 GB HDD
- 1 GB RAM
- DVD writer
- Bluetooth
- 15.4" wide screen
- Centrino Mobile technology
All in just 3639 RM.
I am haapy but could not have enough time so far to spend on it. Just installed Office, Adobe acrobat, MSP and copied some files from my CDs.
Could connect with my sweetheart in the midnight. Wat a clarity of voice! But could not continue chatting because of some connection problem . I wish my wife see it at the earliest. Miss u sweetheart.
But I am not happy because of my irregualrity of GMAT prep work. This is mainly because of the extreme hectic work caused by DAM out here. He made us work on this saturday and sunday till 10.30 pm and 7 pm respectively. I am totally thrown out of my prep track and lost the initial vigour persisting untill last week. Must gather the same though without spending any xtra minute on brooding over the external "No Control" factors.
Mean while i am also thinking of going back to India on pretext of some personal problem.
I will wait till the end of this month and then decide.
Mean while I will keep studying and work as per my plan. Have 90 days approx left with me now. Still planning to write by 16th October 2006.
Yet to consider where to write and exactly when to write.
Back to Malaysia
I am back to Malaysia now. I beg pardon as I did not post anything regarding my 1st time arrival at the Malay land. I would try to swiftly touch thru that episode here.
On 28th May I landed at KLIM (Kuala Lumpur International airport) early in the morning. The KL airport is one of the most beautiful airport I have seen so far. Mind it I have seen Chaule de Gaule International airport of Paris and Lyon airport. Also just to mention I have also been to Dhaka international airports many time. But then KL is the gargantuan one unmatched to any of the above airports. Will post some photographs later.
Took a cab from KL to Melaka. 2 Hours drive and I must admit it was a pleasant one. Will write more about it in other post. And thank god it was Sunday.
Tanjung Samudera is the name of the condominium where we stay. It has all the modern amenities like swimming pool, gym etc. Indeed 1st glance of all these things proved my decision of coming to Malaysia good. errrr….wait it was just the beginning few hours at Melaka. The work part was yet to begin.
Just after a month I had to leave for India on three accounts. One my Visa got expired, got calling Visa and other was my MLP interview. So I left for Delhi on 25.06.06. Had a hectic full week with 5 flights in 6 days. KL-Chennai-Delhi-Chennai-Delhi-KL.
Spent cool 3 days with my sweetheart and my cute baby.
And then left for KL on 02.07.06.
Did not come to office on 03.07.06. Studied about 3 hrs.
I have decided to write GMAT in October now & apply to ISB 2nd round.
Studied last two days and can be deemed suitable. But I must be ready for about
just 100 days sleep less nights. That is the only way out to score at least a respectable no in GMAT.
Must I pull up my socks!!
Good thing is I have prepared the draft for Dell.
I am going ahead with Inspiron 6400. Quite excited to get the set on hand.
